Holy Trinity Church, Arrow

Partly funded by grant aided bodies including the Heritage Lottery Fund and English Heritage, repair works were undertaken to the valley gutter and adjacent roof slopes to halt water ingress.

The degraded lead of the valley gutter was stripped and replaced with terne-coated stainless steel. Lead soakers and flashings were installed to the slopes and localised re-roofing works carried out. Internally, large areas of lime plastering were undertaken to the aisle and nave walls at high level. Carpentry works to repair the roof structure were undertaken where timber had been affected by dry rot. In particular large sections of two principal roof trusses were replaced like for like. Further essential repairs were carried out to the oak wall plates, and many of the oak rafters were splice repaired.
