Snowshill Manor
Snowshill Manor is a Grade II* listed National Trust property situated near Broadway in Gloucestershire. In front of the main facade of the building is a lawned area shielded from the road by a tall retaining wall. The wall itself is Grade II listed and a large part of it had recently collapsed into the garden.
Midland Conservation were selected to undertake substantial rebuilding and repair of the Grade II listed structure.
After protections were laid, scaffolding was erected on the inner court lawn and this took the form of a large storage deck. As the wall was dismantled each of the stones was numbered and laid out in order on the storage deck. This enabled the stonemasons to place them in the wall in the same position they were prior to bring taken down.
